Tesla Motors Inducted Into EV.com Who is Who

Tesla Motors Inc. is a USA based company that designs, manufactures and sells electric vehicles (EVs) and electric vehicle powertrain components.

Tesla trades on the NASDAQ stock exchange as (TSLA). Tesla turned a profit in the first quarter of 2013.

Elon Musk the CEO of Tesla has been quoted as saying that “Tesla will not stop until all cars are electric”.

Tesla Motors is an electric American motor car company based in Palo Alto California

Tesla was one of the first automakers building and selling a zero-emission sports cars in serial production (instead of a prototype or evaluation series production).

Tesla also later developed an award-winning  premium sedan, the Model S (2012), built at their plant in Fremont, California.

Tesla Motors also previously sold its electric powertrain components to other automakers, including Daimler and Toyota.

The company is named after the famous electrical engineer and physicist Nikola Tesla and the company’s first EV the Tesla Roadster uses an AC electric motor based on one of Tesla’s original 1882 designs.

Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk is credited for hastening the development of electric vehicles (EVs) throughout the global automotive industry, by proving that a lithium-ion battery powered sports car could be manufactured ten years prior to when it was suppose to be feasible according to automotive experts at the big automakers.

Elon Musk and Tesla Motors were featured in the electric car film “Revenge of the Electric Car”.

Tesla is also responsible for the Tesla Supercharger network a free to use electric car fast charging network, that allows Tesla Model S drivers to drive coast to coast across the USA without having to pay for fuel costs. The Tesla Supercharger networks are also under construction in Europe and China.

Tesla is also building the world’s largest EV battery factory in the world in Nevada called the Gigafactory with partner Panasonic.
